Two extremes of Cincinnati's art scene

This is an example of what my life is like. I am daily juggling all these niches and I want to bring them together

A new kind of television show

Pulling it all together. A reality show compelling because it provides context for the diversity around us and within us.

The first season: going around Cincinnati to different art events and places. Each episode highlighting a goal. Someone trying to put on a show for example. Also the background of the show would be me trying to start this company from scratch. So people can get behind the small guy and cheer for the underdog. And the people I meet along the way as they too are embarking on their dreams. A story of courage, of faith, of dreaming.

The second season will probably include the United States and the pitch of the show then would be to show America through the eyes of an immigrant philosopher. “America is a poem in our eyes” the word s of Emerson, a man I believe to have been sort of a prophet. Virgil the pilgrim, poet of record, will attempt to tell this American poem through the people and the land. A journey of discovery and destiny.

The third season will be Virgil expanding his journey to tie in people across the world.

AJ, environmentalist and artist, came over and drop some insights

A brief explanation of the magazine's mission and method.

This is an example of an event we covered. Lucid Magazine goes out to the all cool events happening around town and brings it back for you. The town is a lot more progressive than most people think, but it is not covered in the mainstream media. Lucid wants to show the cool side of Cincinnati

we went to maysville to meet George Clooney and hand him a trailer of the movie we were working on. did we make it?

Interviewing Protesters from the SCPA (Scool of Creative and Performing Arts)

Hot new director on the block, Dustin Smith, has just released a short trying to capture the rapid rise of Spoken Word/Performance Poetry. The phrase “spoken word” is used to describe the expression of the artist. Expression can be with a pen, a paintbrush, a musical instrument, a camera, a dance routine, or a word kindly spoken to a neighbor. We are all separated by our experience and we must find ways of bridging the gaps in our communication. Poetry is the language that acknowledges the gaps and bridges them by using picture language; universal signs instead of village symbols. Who is a poet? How can the poet express what he must? How can the true poet be truly relevant? Lucid Magazine is redefining poetry as the rhythm of life itself, and a poet as someone who chooses to express that rhythm with intent. The film contains appearances by some of the best Midwest artists: Awatts, Blade, Divine Hakym, Element, Ehi Akwara, and Okiesha Woods. Spoken word. An action taken, to describe the message within.

Starting this Friday, Feb 29th(Final Friday!), we will be broadcasting a live show from our studio about the goings on around town daily at 10pm Eastern. To have your event listed or covered, send an email to events@lucidmag.com

Muse appreciation: Beth

Lucid is going to be producing the best action movies around. So we met up with our weapons' consultants and looked at a few toys. This is all in our bid to turn weapons for killing into mere props. To help people communicate better and dance with each other, instead of wrestling with communication and the resulting struggle over language leading to violence. Turn swords into plowshares

why Ehi/Virgil came to Cincinnati first. Our editor explains his seemingly inexplicable choice to settle in the Queen City as an immigrant from Nigeria
